"Our twins are freshmen this year, and when we looked at the costs of transportation back and forth to our home in the New York area, we decided a car was essential for the two of them. We soon learned that on-campus parking was very limited (even for upperclassmen) and is prohibited for freshmen. "My daughter is a freshman and is loving the experience but during her first semester we quickly realized that not having a car was going to be a problem. We found that driving to school from our home and back in one day was exhausting (8 hour round trip). I started looking for parking options so she could take her car back to school after Christmas break and I was happy to find Freshmen Parking. I left a phone message at the number on the website and within hours I had received a response. I have found them to be prompt, courteous, helpful and genuinely interested in helping students and parents solve their parking problems. I visited the parking lot and found it to be convenient, in a safe area with good lighting, and secure. I also spoke with the staff at the lot and feel confident that my daughter will be safe picking up her car. We are looking forward our first semester with Freshmen Parking."

"Freshmen Parking helped my son tremendously! The first semester was quite a difficult adjustment for him and I was doing a lot of driving to and from JMU to get him home on some weekends. I have 3 other children, one elementary aged, one middle-school aged and one a junior in high school, thus making my life a little hectic. So once we had his car in a safe spot and got to know the cab and bus system back to campus we were all set. I would highly recommend your lot to any parent. "Freshmen Parking was a tremendous benefit for our family during my son's freshman year at James Madison University. At first, my husband and I were leery about agreeing to our son having a car in Harrisonburg during his freshman year. We were worried that he would use his car too often and not be responsible. But the opposite occurred. Our son actually learned how to be more responsible with his car. The lot used by Freshmen Parking is close to school but far enough away that our son had to think before he could use his car, which was a good thing. He actually had to plan how he was going to get to his car. This also meant that he could not just use his car on a whim. He still learned to use the transportation provided by JMU, which is exceptional. My son only used his car when he wanted to travel to another school or come home. And the coming home was a real perk because we live three in a half hours away. And on the last day of his freshman year, after all his exams, he loaded his own car with all his belongings and brought his own self home. That is what I call responsibility - I did not have to go help him pack up all his dorm goods - and all parents know that what they cram into those little dorm rooms is quite a bit!!! Guess he also learned that maybe he can live next year with a little less!! Thanks Freshmen Parking!!"

"I am so glad that we found a place to park my daughter's car her freshman year at JMU. Her father lives in way upstate Pennsylvania and I live in Palmyra, VA. This would have been a great strain on me. Not only would I have had to go get her when she wanted to come see me and her little sisters at my house, I would have had to get a car to her when she wanted to go see her dad for any of the vacations. Some feel that they should stay at school their freshman year and not come home at all, well, she did most of the time, but there were those weekends that she just wanted to get away, or she had big test to study for and it was quieter at my house, she could go get her car and come home even for a night if she wanted to, without taking an extra 2.5 hours out of my day. The money we paid was well worth it and I would highly recommend Freshmen Parking."
